Julien Bardin, our founder, has always lived close to the sea. Snorkelling is where he thinks. One afternoon he was alone in open water, turning over what to call the company he was building, when a manta ray drifted in out of the blue, wide, calm, unhurried, and circled to take a proper look at him.
Mantas do that. They are among the most intelligent animals in the ocean, and they are genuinely curious: they approach, they observe, they come to understand. There was no better metaphor for the kind of firm he wanted to build. The name was decided in the water.

Julien Bardin
Julien founded MANTAS to do consulting the way he always wished it were done: senior people who genuinely own the outcome, an exacting standard for craft, and a refusal to hand over anything a client's own team cannot confidently run.
Away from the work, he is most at home in the water, snorkelling, freediving, and paying close attention to how the most elegant systems in nature actually behave. It is not a coincidence that the firm is built on curiosity, calm and depth.
